3. Who knows Texas law?

I know that in many states, a person can run for only one office at a time. Is Gohmert allowed to run for AG and for re-election to his House seat at the same time? Because I have to think that Rep. Gohmert's peculiar blend of crazy and stupid may work against him in a statewide election, outside his congressional district.

5. Can be on for more than one office -- think Lloyd Benson

Lloyd Benson was on the same ballot for Senate and VP.

I remember that it was part of the decision to go after him as VP as the risk of losing his Senate seat was low. Other options would not have been able to run for VP and the Senate

7. Louie can only run for one office under the Texas election code

This is from the Texas Election Code https://statutes.capitol.texas.gov/Docs/EL/htm/EL.141.htm

Sec. 141.033. FILING APPLICATIONS FOR MORE THAN ONE OFFICE PROHIBITED. (a) A candidate may not file applications for a place on the ballot for two or more offices that:

(1) are not permitted by law to be held by the same person; and

(2) are to be voted on at one or more elections held on the same day.

(b) If a person files more than one application for a place on a ballot in violation of this section, each application filed subsequent to the first one filed is invalid.

(c) This section does not apply to candidacy for the office of president or vice-president of the United States and another office.

Gohmert can only run for one office because the LBJ exception only works if you are running for POTUS or VPOTUS

Y’all, this is *almost* too good to be true. This is Breaking Texas News.

Louie Gohmert is going to run against Ken Paxton. https://gohmert.net/

And after you settle down laughing about that — what does this make George P Bush? Chopped liver?

Honey, I will buy tickets to a debate between Gohmert and Paxton.
