Howard Stern floats 2024 bid against Trump: 'There's no way I'd lose'

Howard Stern says he could launch a White House bid in 2024 against former President Trump, quipping that he knows he'll "beat his ass." The SiriusXM host said Tuesday that running for president could be his "civic duty" if Trump, who has repeatedly floated but not confirmed a 2024 bid, sought a second term.

"I would just sit there and play that f---ing clip of him trying to fix the election over and over again," Stern said, referring to Trump's phone call in January with Brad Raffensperger in which the then-president sought to persuade the Georgia secretary of state of evidence of election fraud in the Peach State. "There’s no way I’d lose," Stern, 67, said.

Trump, a New York real estate developer and reality TV star before entering politics, was once a frequent guest on Stern's show. In the past, the veteran broadcaster referred to Trump as a friend, but Stern grew increasingly critical of Trump during his presidency, slamming him for his administration's handling of the coronavirus pandemic. "I'm absolutely out of my f---ing mind about how this country is being run (by Trump) and what is going on,"
Stern, who supported Hillary Clinton in the 2016 White House race and Joe Biden in 2020, said last year.

The "Howard Stern Comes Again" author wouldn't be completely new to the world of politics. He ran as a Libertarian in New York's gubernatorial race in 1994 but dropped out when the state's Supreme Court upheld a requirement that as a political candidate he would have to disclose his personal finances.

2. Sorry Howard, But Your Cult Is FAR Less Substantial Than TFG's

I know Howard has his supporters, but I think he underestimates the pull TFG has. No way Howard would stand a chance. The American people are too stupid to vote for him over TFG.

8. Howard has evolved since the 80s/90s. He's actually pretty enlightened now.

10. Do you think he's learned anything about managing a government? Wait, I'll answer that for ya.

Sorry, Stern might be less of a nazi than Trump, but he's still an egomaniacal celebrity narcissist with zero skill at public policy. Some day this country will learn that governing requires an actual skillset at management, compromise, oversight, budgeting, and technical know-how. And then, once again, 8 years after that we'll forget it again.

13. More than likely it's to split the vote

He voted for Clinton in 2016 and Biden in 2020. He has said that Trump is a huge threat to democracy.

Would I vote for him? No, but if he wants to play spoiler in the GOP primary I'm game.

...probably only to ruin Trump's chances. Split the base so the adults can get back in the driver seat. But...not many adults left in the GOP, so....

The difference is that Stern brings an additional 40 IQ points and genuine talent to the playing field.
