charged with sedition and I don’t know why. I’m reading mostly misdemeanors and a few months in prison. A few months in prison means you don’t actually go to a prison you typically stay at a holding place.

but I read the other day that the woman who bragged that she wouldn't be locked up due to her white skin and blonde hair was going to "prison." It stood out to me because, like you, I know that short prison sentences are usually spent in jails, and a jail and a prison can be very different things. Maybe some of them are actually going to a prison. More likely, though, it was the mistake of a reporter who didn't know any better.
