(21,359 posts)It's being gerrymandered to death. Sheila Jackson Lee and Al Greene have been gerrymandered into the same district, that's -1 seat without voting.

(145,314 posts)There are a ton of good Democrats working hard. Demographic trends indicate that Texas may be purple in the 2022 cycle and will be looking good in 2024. That is why the Texas Repugs are so busy suppressing the vote and gerrymandering themselves into safe seats

(10,156 posts)Its just not gonna happen. The Texas GQP will never ever let Texas fall into the democratic category. Without Texas they don't have a fighting chance in presidential elections anymore. They will never allow it. Sorry but we need to stop believing Texas will be California. Plus too many Latino men are buying into the conservative ideology.

* African Americans vote, but Hispanics don't, and the Hispanics who do are fragmented with a Wingnut component.
* Young Libs of the Austin variety are KEWL in their own minds, faddish, wannabe the latest thang cusp (in their own minds) - scuttling unity.
