I watched some of this today and was appalled. I turned it off and had a very sinking feeling.

Although unlikely. He could continue in the current program and then apply. I believe ASU allows people to transition as part of the New American University B.S. set up by the school president.
It looks more like something he did as part of his image make over. The session for him just started in late October.
Edit to add link to ASU Student Newspaper article.

(24,504 posts)So, he walks from real justice, Who will want a 2 time killer and wounded another with a gun from an area he did not belong in, underaged and purchased the weapon illegally? Normal people will shun this fucker and I hope his "free" life will be fraught with dealing with the consequences, maybe his conscience. The part of his conscious mind that knows he went there precisely to accomplish what he fantasized about and made happen..

(33,345 posts)But I'd say the odds are against it.
He will be handed every opportunity by the RWNM but he doesn't appear to have the mental acuity to seize the opportunity. He's a HS dropout, but he's not a Savant.
He's a pawn.

(38,436 posts)....Yes, Rittenhouse is full of BS..Will the jury see that?...My guess is ..Yes.!!
....The jury can convict...if it wants to, not listening to all what the judge says....Yes it can...
..............Rittenhouse can appeal if he is found guilty...but the jury can see through the BS........
..............and it is BS...Rittenhouse brought a gun to an event and used that gun to kill...Is that it?.........

(17,863 posts)might have jeopardy attached because of misbehavior of the prosecutor. On the other hand you see Brady violations being retried all the time. Sounds like it is unlikely to have jeopardy attached, but you can't use silence of a defendant as a basis for guilt - it is an integral part of our legal code irrespective of who is being tried. Also if a judge excludes something, you keep it out. You would almost think the prosecution is sandbagging - they wouldn't do that... Right??

(1,666 posts)It is always possible he will now steer clear of conflict and adapt the if you look for it you, will find it philosophy of a person who has a few years of wisdom on them, but I think the militias showering him with praise will get him to join them officially and eventually he will go too far.

(1,306 posts)He was brainwashed into believing he would be hailed as a hero -- especially in the Qanon / MAGAT world.
He was brainwashed into believing those people he was hunting down were a lesser species and deserving death.
They were rioters and looters (according to the fucking judge!) and he was a hero vigilante.
Would he have reacted the same way to the rioters at the Capitol on Jan 6th?
Anyway, he achieved his goal -- he shot and killed him some liberals. That was the intention.
His prey fought back and tried to stop him, but he had a rifle and they did not (just a skateboard)
His defense in court: He was scared and felt threatened . . . by the people he was tracking down to kill . . .
You can't make up this insane shit.

(5,557 posts)The FBI drone footage pretty much refutes hunting for people to shoot conversation.
However, was he there to deliberately provoke what happened? That is quite possible, and the TikTok 'just trying to be famous' quote that came out today definitely helps support that. The problem is that is just about the only bit of evidence they've been able to introduce to support that theory. With the other examples of him rendering aid and putting out fires, the prosecution has not come close to proving that was his motive.
And it might not matter under WI law even if that was his motive. Someone who loses the right to self defense by provoking others, regains it my disengaging / retreating. Video shows he did this prior to each shooting.
I've said several times that this case is going to underscore the difference between what is right and what is legal.
I expect him to end up not guilty on the murder charges based on WI law and the evidence presented at trial. Doesn't mean that he is innocent, just found not guilty under law.

(1,666 posts)has a then under 18 year old, been so hated and wanted punished, broke and jobless for life all over a smirk. And admit it, the smirk is what the vast majority of posts about him are. Did you see that smirk? He should be denied jobs, money, homes and banished for life for a smirk. And by the way, we are the party of not feeling people should be punished for life for their crimes. But a woke crime of smirking? Thats a lifer!

(20,851 posts)He looks like a prime candidate for alcoholism and meth. He's a poorly raised person with little in his background to suggest he has much ability to profit from this beyond that which he's already has. As soon as he isn't the flavor of the month, he goes back to being nobody. And a nobody with a poor education and a triple homicide in his background. I mean, it's not exactly a gateway to future success for most people.
