But yeah...here's Cleese pissing and moaning about the immigrants in London:

Cleese, 79, who has openly supported Brexit , was bombarded with messages from furious followers who branded him "xenophobic". He's also come under fire from London Mayor Sadiq Khan, who compared the comedian to his comedy character Basil Fawlty.
Khan said: "These comments make John Cleese sound like he's in character as Basil Fawlty. Londoners know that our diversity is our greatest strength. We are proudly the English capital, a European city and a global hub."
On Twitter, Cleese was bombarded with messages from outraged followings with one writing: "Time to stop tweeting, John. This sounds like xenophobia." (edited for spelling correction)

(17,006 posts)"I love having different cultures around but when the parent culture kind of dissipates you're left thinking 'well, what's going on?'"
Earlier this year Cleese said he preferred living in Bath to London: "I love being down in Bath because it feels like the England that I grew up in."
On Brexit
I dont want to be run by a bunch of European bureaucrats because they always look after themselves first, he commented to Screen.
I think his issue is more with money than where someone is from or the color of someones skin. Not saying that makes it right but
I live in Florida and Ive seen so many sleepy, little beach communities that were, I guess, a cliche turned into condos as far as the eye can see. I dont have anything against the people visiting or living there but
I miss my little beach communities. And no, I dont stay in any of the bright, shiny new condos.

(101,321 posts)That's why he thinks London "is no longer an English city". He likes Bath, which is a pretty expensive place to live, but 90% White British - national average 80%, London 45%.

45% is not dissipated. All typical traditional English things still thrive in London. There's just a lot of other stuff too.

(2,343 posts)But, he's safe. 'Fawlty Towers' and 'Holy Grail' are two of the BEST comedies ever in English.
The Wizard
(12,545 posts)has comedy resume that's tough to compare. Different than Cleese. Brooks also wrote the music in his movies. The Producers may be the funniest movie he made. Peter Sellers said it was a masterpiece.

(2,343 posts)I can only express that opinion with those 35 and older. I still laugh my A off to this day. I watch it at least once per year now. Great comedy!
