Tucker Carlson asks why the US should defend Ukraine and not side with Russia

The Fox News host Tucker Carlson blew a fuse against GOP Rep. Mike Turner on Wednesday night, questioning the lawmaker's call for the US to defend Ukraine over Russia.

Satellite images published by Politico on November 1 showed Russian forces - including tanks and self-propelled artillery - amassing at the Ukrainian border. On Friday, Turner and 14 other Republican members of Congress called on President Joe Biden to provide Ukraine with military assistance.

"But hold on," Carlson said. "Why would we take Ukraine's side and not Russia's side? It's a sincere question. If you're looking at America's perspective, why? Who's got the energy reserves? Who's the major player in world affairs? Who's the potential counterbalance against China.

"I'm totally confused."
