The defense in the Rittenhouse trial has called Drew Hernandez, who is part of the infamous "Riot Squad", a group of eight right-wing propagandists who deceptively edit videos to smear BLM.
Hernandez was profiled by @RobertMackey in @TheIntercept. 👉🏼https://theintercept.com/2021/05/13/riot-squad-right-wing-video-journalists-black-lives-matter-antifa/

(9,074 posts)I get that he was a witness who took video of the Rosenbaum situation and had a close, first hand look at Rosenbaum's aggressiveness before he chased Rittenhouse. However, he was combative, looking to get into it with the prosecutor, outrageously biased, and just plain hostile.
You don't go into court as a witness and decide that's prime time to get into an ideological fight with a prosecutor. He was playing to right-wing social media every second, chewing scenery, and generally seeing it all as a moment he could see future profits from.
It made him an absolutely awful witness.
I don't know what the jury was thinking, but that whole thing was just yikes.
