Were either appointed by Pres. Biden or Pres. Obama.

I HOPE she's wrong, but if she isn't wrong:

WHAT IN HELL IS GOING ON HERE?

WHY did they throw fatso a bone here?

Its complicated, but this was a motion for an administrative injunction, which is intended to preserve a court's jurisdiction (which would've been mooted without the court getting an opportunity to consider anything without this delay). It doesn't determine whether Trump will get a stay pending his appeal, for which the bar is much higher.

means this may not get settled until Jan 2022 by the Supreme Court. All those defying the committee are emboldened to continue to use this decision as an excuse not to cooperate until at least then.

Meanwhile the clock ticks towards the mid-terms and the sudden end of this committee and it's investigation.

As someone upthread said, tRump's trying to run the clock out.

He is barred from releasing the documents by the order.

We're only talking about 70 documents. The bigger cache of material isn't due to be released until November 26.

yes, we want the documents but I'm betting the 1/6 committee has plenty of evidence right now..they've conducted over 150 interviews with Trump staffers and I know they're singing..the delay is unnerving but the 1/6 committee is not stopping because of this...

Courts can and do often grant temporary administrative stays so that they have an opportunity to hear a case on the merits before it becomes moot. The District Court essentially invited Trump to ask for this and the Committee didn't oppose it.

and they weren't going to honor them until the case reached SCOTUS.

This is a pretty fast schedule for the DC Circuit. What SCOTUS does has always been a wild card.
