New cases are up 42 percent, to a daily average of 3,737 as of Thursday. That is considerably over what the epidemiology models foresaw when this new surge began. Were on track to have the worst spike in the pandemic

Maybe everybody who gets the shot should also receive an American flag pin. And those who shun the vaccineor undermine it, like Rep. Lauren Boebert of Coloradoshould stop wearing them entirely.

(51,308 posts)First shot, no problem at all. Second shot, some fever, body aches, tiredness.
This booster I had two days ago. Fine the first day and night, then yesterday I felt like a truck hit me by afternoon. Fever rose through the night to 103, then seemed to break this morning around 430.
Exhausted now, but even more nervous that it will hit me again.

(66,467 posts)It's not an adverse effect of the vaccine; it's the vaccine working the way it's supposed to; your symptoms are an effect of the immune system being stimulated to create immune antibodies to fight COVID-19 infection.
This is the reason so many people think "the vaccine gave me the disease".
You'll recover pretty soon, and will feel all the better for it. It happened to me, too.

(6,217 posts)Yesterday's data is still incomplete; numbers for less than half of the states are reported.
From the look of it, I would expect the total to be close to Wednesday's number when the total is in.
