walks in a courthouse takes an hour or so to book in and book out of jail and then be on his way to spread more hate and discontent until his trial in a year or two from now.
Well at least he made more headline news...

the judge is a Trump appointee. The judge should order him off social media but I don't expect he will. Bannon will spend the months before the trial railing against the deep state and making himself into a martyr on his pod cast.

No judge would order pre-trial confinement here.

Not a felony, not a crime that carries a ten year sentence or possible death penalty, not a violent crime. So he doesn’t even qualify for a detention hearing… let alone an expectation of it going against him.

His crime is serious politically… but it’s still a misdemeanor. Any jail time will come after conviction.

I mean if you look at Bannon, what could you possibly do to punish him any more than he does himself? And I don’t think there’s anything that will shut him up. However, other people facing the same charge, might have actual lives they don’t want completely upended by an indictment.

Miller was found guilty of civil contempt of court for refusing to answer questions posed to her before a grand jury. Different law, different rules apply than the situation presented by Bannon's failure to appear before a Congressional committee.

(And Miller wasn't confined pending her appeals -- she was found guilty of contempt in October 2004 and wasn't jailed July 2005, after her appeals before the Circuit Court and Supreme Court failed).

When was the last time you heard of someone being denied bail for a misdemeanor offense? It just doesn't happen.

So, Bannon will turn himself in on that arrest warrant and will bail out or be released on his own recognizance immediately. Expecting some sort of unusual treatment isn't useful, really. It's not happening.
