(5,929 posts)I had an Aunt Madge. She deserved far better than she got from life. Please refer to that woman as Midge.
Thank you.

(3,329 posts)How pathetic, dangerous and little she is.

(5,929 posts)She is likely descended from apes, and not that long ago.
Why am I not surprised to hear that it took her years to read a book? And I'll bet that was the Audible version.

Every word she read was purged by the time she got to the next book in the bible.
The Bible is written in such a manner that literal interpretations give false messaging. Nuance and applied historical references are required to properly understand the true meaning of the words. Let's not forget that there are also over 300 serious flaws, errors and conflicts in the Bible too.
Guaranteed, she read it at a level no higher than RL8.

(20,219 posts)Years? I know it's a long book, but YEARS? It doesn't sound like reading it was a big priority to her.

(21,910 posts)I was wondering if she has figured out the book of revelations...
"As sinners, in one way or another, we are all part of those sinful forces that killed Jesus. Jesus died making the reign of God present for us while we were still sinners. To acknowledge our human sinfulness is to become aware of our participation in the forces of evil that killed Jesus, including their present manifestations in such powers as militarism, nationalism, racism, sexism, heterosexism and poverty that still bind and oppress." (58,352 posts)Minor point, but Jeopardy loves trying to trick people into answering "Revelations". (and also saying A Midsummer's Night Dream instead of A Midsummer Night's Dream).
Excellent quote from Weaver. I'm not familiar with him, but he sounds like someone I would find myself agreeing with an awful lot.

(5,929 posts)That's the most pornographic book of the Bible, as I understand it.

(7,533 posts)...like "yep...almost done with the last...chapter..."
And isn't that where the plot gets cray-cray with the revelations?
That's a thick book Marge. That requires reading skill and I'd love to know what other literature she peruses.

(19,204 posts)The Orange Pig on a cross!
They should have made him an orange color though, instead of that pasty hue. I'm positive that's the way the Orange Pig sees himself though, crucified for the sins of the MAGAts.

(19,204 posts)Certainly no pine or willow. I'd say locust or teak, and that still would be questionable without multiple cross-bracing. I still think he'd slide right off the cross.
