We call it tax dodging, but they call it a 9000% return on their investment. Lest we forget the golden rule.
I have, in fact, seen the "they're paying the taxes required by law," sentiment here on DU many times over the years, which of course handily overlooks the fact that these beleaguered billionaires own a number of people in congress who are happy to shape the law to their owners' wishes.

(6,602 posts)Capital gains tax rates should be progressive, the more you make, the higher the percentage you pay.
It makes no sense for a "little guy" like me who might make a few thousand $ a year in capital gains to pay the same rate as rich folks who make millions a year in capital gains.
