Unfortunately the elite will keep screwing the average American regardless of who is in power.

I'm more frustrated by the serfs and peons who argue so tirelessly on their behalf, even as they themselves are paying higher taxes than their billionaire owners are paying.

If you can pay tens of millions of dollars for accountants, lobbyists, and campaign donations, you can save billions in taxes.

We call it tax dodging, but they call it a 9000% return on their investment. Lest we forget the golden rule.

I have, in fact, seen the "they're paying the taxes required by law," sentiment here on DU many times over the years, which of course handily overlooks the fact that these beleaguered billionaires own a number of people in congress who are happy to shape the law to their owners' wishes.

Just so he could pay taxes on it. FWIW. Not all billionaires are the same.

Capital gains tax rates should be progressive, the more you make, the higher the percentage you pay.

It makes no sense for a "little guy" like me who might make a few thousand $ a year in capital gains to pay the same rate as rich folks who make millions a year in capital gains.
