(13,571 posts)...as some say he has requested. In reading the law, it seems clear that he should not be granted another HOLDOVER YEAR, as the law says a member may only serve two terms, and he served the remainder of one term that was a vacancy, and then was granted the HOLDOVER YEAR by Trump (that would be his second term).
Biden has already appointed three diverse member who are now Senate confirmed. As other seats become open, Biden will fill them, as well.

mail order prescriptions have arrived in a timely manner and so has the rest of my mail for the most part. Magazines a little late sometimes and had a piece of election mail arrive the day of the election-so whats new. My bills that get mailed have arrived on time. I also thought Social Security checks had to be direct deposit now?

(10,435 posts)I've noticed I get a lot less mail, and some is timely some is not.
The worst is what they did to Netflix. I used to be able to turn around 2 disks per week, now I can put one in the mail on Monday and sometimes don't get the next one until Tuesday or Wednesday of the following week. It's added over a week to the former turnaround time. I'd drop it, but some things are only on disk, not streaming.
Painful process or not, DeJoy's removal should have been started last January.

(445 posts)But Biden had a LOT on his plate right then. As always, its going to be a lot of work to undo what TFG did to us.

(8,310 posts)back in March, 2 weeks prior to his bday. It had to travel straight across 4 states. It took 30 DAYS! I had enclosed a check which I stopped payment on after 2 weeks. That cost me $25. I've decided to mail all my Christmas cards next week.

(62,448 posts)to bankrupt the USPS by forcing them to fund retirement and healthcare(as I recall) 75 years in the future.
They did this so the USPS could not fund a massive purchase of electric vehicles.
Congress needs to address this also. Be nice if DeJoy's departure was timed to go with getting rid of that damned plan to bankrupt the USPS.

(65,191 posts)I have a suspicion that all these service reduction moves, that supposedly were about cost efficiency, have done nothing significant toward that goal.
We've known the whole time that the biggest contributor to any financial issues was the stupid pension funding mandate. That hasn't changed.
So, I beoieve dejoy is ruining the primary mission of USPS, but not driving efficiency in either operations or financial matter.
This is, IMO, enough reason to dismiss him. Shear incompetence is reason to launch him.

If you get Social Security benefits,
you must receive your payments electronically. You can do so by signing up for direct deposit, which sends payments directly into your bank account. Or, you can have your benefits automatically deposited into your Direct Express® Debit MasterCard® account.

(82,849 posts)The Postal Service was doing quite all right until the former guy's appointee was put in charge. FEMA - believe it or not - used to be a sterling agency, responsive to disasters and effecting in providing relief. Then George W. Bush got into the White House. It made a bit of a comeback during the Obama years, but slipped again badly under the former guy.
It's just uncanny how badly government programs operate when Republicans are running them.
