A story about a gun.

‘They were in love’: Young couple found slain in Alabama storage shed had bright future

A young couple found shot to death and discarded in a storage shed were looking forward to their future and making plans together.

In fact, whatever Devyn Sterling and Shalondria Grey Chavers did, they did together.

“They were in love,’’ said Tiffany Thomas, Sterling’s sister. “They were always positive, always nice. They were just good people.”

The slain victims, both 24, were discovered Sunday afternoon in a shed on someone else’s property on Topaz Road in Sawyerville, according to Hale County District Attorney Michael Jackson.

Both were employed at Belk in Tuscaloosa until their slayings.

“They worked a couple of jobs together,’’ Thomas said. “You didn’t see one without the other.”

“They were the sweetest,’’ she said. “Both of them individually were sweet, and together they were sweet.”

Thomas and her brother were extremely close, and Chavers blended right in with the family once the couple started dating.

“She became a big part of the family,’’ she said /SNIP
