Only 90 minutes today. One 30 minute episode of Guy's Ranch & 1 Guy's Grocery Games.
They then went to Holiday Baking Championship for the rest of the day.
Yeah, I watch the Food Network a lot!. (I'm not a baker, so I don't watch those shows.)
I like Alton Brown & Noah Cappe on the Cooking Channel, too.
Became a thing for me after I retired.

Many moons ago, my brother did it. He said it was completely awful on the body - one of the hardest labor jobs he ever had.

And this was when he was in his early 20s.

We have two distribution warehouses nearby. They've been advertising nonstop - even offering signing bonuses.

When the signing bonuses come out, you know they're desperate.

When I first started in my field, I worked at one briefly in the office portion of things. Newp. Couldn't pay me enough to work on the floor. No way. And during the holidays? Newp newp newp. You are moving and lifting and walking nonstop.

You could see the life going out of everyone's eyes.

When the shifts ended, people could leave. But the leads had to stay and finish whatever wasn't. Why anyone ever wanted to be a lead there. $1/hour extra, and for what? So you can spend an extra two hours a day quietly weeping in a corner trying to get a whole line finished by yourself?

Horrible place.

They will all have to pay a living wage - the government is subsidizing trips to space and fancy yachts.

Who wants to pass a bill to create a “training wage” of $4.25/hr. for new workers in some situations that would last for 6 mos.

It would apply to all workers under the age of 21, newly released prisoners, I forget what others

They will twist themselves into pretzels to avoid paying people a decent wage! Disgusting.

the workers will be let go after 5 months and 3 weeks of work so the company can hire another “trainee” to wash dishes or whatever. I hope this bill goes down in flames.
