are protected by executive privilege then executive privilege is a threat to democracy not a strength of said democracy. This issue should be a no-brainer, even in our flawed judiciary. No wonder Americans are increasingly skeptical of the courts and the administration of justice.

(21,473 posts)Go back to the Mueller investigation and the decision made not to prosecute Trump. The idea that a sitting president can't be convicted of a crime is basically an oxymoron which means he is above the law. It should have been challenged back then.

(21,473 posts)the Appeals Court is meeting today to decide if White House documents can be turned over to the select committee.
The 3 judges were all appointed by Democratic presidents. Hopefully this gets expedited because we know it's headed to the SC. Best case scenario is the SC doesn't take the case, yeah right.

(3,248 posts)Basically Trump went against the Constitution with his incited riot and lies.
"One cannot commit sedition or insurrection to overthrow a government while still claiming to uphold and defend the Constitution. The U.S. government, the rule of law, and the Constitution are inextricably linked, and violent attacks on any of the three are not protected actions."
