Chris Cuomo is suspended indefinitely from CNN for abusing his position to help his brother against victims of sexual harassment. I think this is appropriate as sad as it makes me.
Until Faux News suspends Tucker Carlson, I will add this comparison to the list of many things that explain why Both Sidesisms are really a bunch of Bull Shit!

(11,738 posts)CNN SUPENDED Cuomo for unethical behavior.
Fox News HAS NOT suspended Tucker Carlson for unethical behavior.
The OP is clearly saying that "Both Sides" is bullshit using these two actions as comparison.

(4,733 posts)References this allegation? And further, what does Cuomo abusing his position as a journalist to help his brother have to do with allegations of sexual misconduct of a host?

(23,018 posts)Because it sounds like you didnt
the point is that this is another example how Democrats hold their own accountable when the right refuses to.
Whats going on with people here?

(26,742 posts)Neither was fired because it was merely an allegation.
But CNN has enough evidence to determine that he acted unethically within the terms of his employment.

(23,018 posts)That is the sound of the point of the OP going over your head.

(26,742 posts)You try to imply a double standard... but can't seem to articulate one that sticks. The thing that Cuomo is suspended for, Carlson isn't accused of... and the thing that Carlson is accused of (but not suspended) is similar to what Cuomo has also not been suspended for.
What you appear to be stuck with is an "I don't like one so he should be fired, but I do like the other so he should stay"... but that's not a defensible position.

(12,814 posts)Democrats are held to account for potential ethics violations, while Republicans never are (not even for more serious allegations) -- and hence both sides are not the same.
At least, that was my read of it.

I still want to know why Cuomo got prosecuted lickety split, but no one can ever, ever touch that orange creature for anything. WTF?
ETA: For the reactionary, I'm not saying Cuomo shouldn't be prosecuted, I'm saying that there is a serious double standard. Republican men get to do whatever they fucking please with no consequences in the vast majority of cases.

(68,578 posts)folks that we lost Katie Hill's seat. Cuomo was trying to help his bother...so I don't think what CNN did was appropriate. I will add that I don't believe Cuomo should have resigned...it will only embolden the GOP to continue attacking our side. Also, name me one person who was ever prosecuted for sexual harassment...I can't think of any.It must be a special treat reserved for Democrats...I hope to God we keep the Governorship in New York and for those who think it would not be possible for a GOP to win. I say you are wrong. I grew up in that area. New York City is liberal but New York state not so much.

(11,738 posts)I would prefer that it was a journalist who reported on facts and gave any opinion based on evidence and not solely from a predetermined political viewpoint.
I say this because I understand that facts and evidence typically support a liberal point of view. You have to distort information to support a Conservative viewpoint. This is why Fox News viewers are consistently identified as the least informed consumers of media.

(1,910 posts)It is what it is, Cuomo was not a big factor for CNN, hence they took 'a stand'. So his replacement gets a 100000 less or more, makes zero difference to ATT's bottom line.
