I'm worried, y'all. Even if Roe is struck down, abortion will still be legal in some states, including mine, but a lot of this country will be screwed. Ugh.

A few months ago a poll of Democrats said the TX law had increased those who said abortion/contraception/equal pay were top issues from 5% to 10%. Even Democratic women are far more interested in economic and health issues. Those concerns right now are understandable, but a wake-up about what's really at stake is needed.
According to a September Data for Progress survey, which was fielded after the Texas law took effect, 60 percent of likely voters said the Supreme Court should keep Roe intact. This was up 3 points from a similar Data for Progress poll fielded in May. Meanwhile, a September survey from The Economist/YouGov found that 50 percent of U.S. adults did not want Roe overturned, versus 28 percent who did; this aligns with a separate YouGov poll from last year, which found that 49 percent of adults wanted Roe to remain, while only a quarter wanted it overturned.
Red states, all I believe, have anti-abortion statutes on the books ready to apply on day 1 if it happens. And if it does, we'll see how people react to criminalizing abortion.

Well, we'll see, eventually, if Roe stands for now. Even if this court were to somehow decide not to decide for or against a constitutional right to abortion now, for political reasons, that wouldn't mean it was over. I'd rather have the 6 anti-abortionists on this court take the leap now. So the American people once again have to face the problem of abortion and this court and deal with them. Abortion is only one of many major harms this RW extremist court intends.
