She offers a righteous rant in the video.

(24,736 posts)I don't know how much interest there is in her here yet, but we should be.
She is gaining in popularity and profile, and she is skilled at getting out a true blue Dems message!!

I am so fking sick of this same fight, too.
2016 was a shameful debasing of women & girls for generations.
Pity it was all so carelessly tossed away.
How long do we have to keep repeating this!
HERE. READ IT. THIS WAS IN 1995, ffs.
HRC "Women's Rights are Human Rights, once & for all.
FIRST LADY HILLARY RODHAM CLINTON
REMARKS FOR THE UNITED NATIONS FOURTH WORLD CONFERENCE ON WOMEN

HERE. LISTEN.
HERE, THE SHORT VERSION.
LISTEN. REPEAT.
IT'S THE SAME CONCERN & THE SAME FIGHT WOMEN HAVE DEMANDED FOR GENERATIONS
We achieved the beginning of such rights, only to be given away in 2016. The most critical juncture of the fight for human rights in 40 years.
Glad to see this woman repeating the same words that have been shouted for generations.
Maybe someone will finally listen to her.
Thank you.

(6,594 posts)Why can't Congress pass a bill that explicitly makes abortion legal, & POTUS signs it into law? Yes, Republicans will fight it, & yes they will challenge the constitutionality of the law, & yes we would need the votes to pass the bill, I know all those things & I'm not talking about those things. What I'm wondering is, is there anything in the Constitution (or anywhere else) that prevents Congress from doing it, like Congress doesn't have the power to legislate this specific thing?
I'm not aware of anything that prevents Congress from trying to pass such a bill, yet for all our worrying & hand wringing & endless discussions... I don't think they've ever even tried. Nor do I recall hearing any statements from lawmakers about doing so. Am I missing something?
