They are moving Ethan Crumley, the Oxford shooter, from Children's Village to the county jail

They are afraid he'd be a threat to others at the juvenile facility and would be best kept in protective isolation in the county jail. Certainly not an upgrade in accommodations, that's for sure

Just now on WEYI news.

1. "A threat to others"?

Wow. This must be a really messed up kid.

This all just breaks my heart.

A 16 year old boy murdered a woman where we used to live. He was found guilty and got life without the possibility of parole.

What he did was horrible, but he was still just a boy. And no life or future ahead of him.

This kid has possibly the same future.

The loss of the potential of a full life, etc.

But people like this are not redeemable for the most part in my opinion. The best that society can do, almost like with a vicious dog, is to make sure they can do no more harm to anyone else.

They always come with collateral damage, too. Even if this kid's parents were bad parents as has been alleged, etc., there are still probably grandparents, teachers, etc. who will mourn the loss of him.

The victims' families will have their share of mourning, too, and I don't mean to trivialize that by saying any of this. It is an unthinkable situation all the way around.

They have one video where they told this kid if he could eat a 'blob' of horseradish and not make any facial expressions, they'd give him $100. The kid took them up on it and it was excruciating to watch his painful reaction. And all the while the parents were laughing at him. I can't even begin to imagine a parent doing that to a child.

The dad seems to constantly move between jobs. The wife (not sure if she is Ethan's mom) apparently worked in real estate but she's been erased from the company web site. There are several ex wives and child support problems.

And now more and more is coming out about this kid's planning for the shootings. I think we are just at the tip of an iceberg of information.

Looked very young. This is so sad on so many levels.

He didn’t have a chance with parents like that. Making him eat horseradish?

How to make a monster 101.

That’s a very rare sentence these days for juveniles. Thankfully!

2. If he's being charged as an adult, that would seem expected?

Obviously not throwing him in the general population of a high-security setting, but still, I can't think most jurisdictions would leave him in a juvenile facility.

The news made a point of bringing this up, and the reason for it, so I figured this was a departure from the norm.

11. I knew they were trying him as an adult. The reporter didn't indicate that's the reason for the move

Of course, the report might have been wrong.

Regardless, that's going to be some hard waiting time for that young male.
