I'm beginning to wonder how much suffering and death it takes for Democrats to win

I'd say there's a good chance that, if not for COVID, we'd be experiencing a second Trump term right now, sinking even further into fascism and autocracy, instead of getting a reprieve with Biden.

Now it may come to pass that the overreach of overturning Roe v. Wade is what saves us in the 2022 elections, a victory purchased at the cost of all the women who will suffer until Democrats are once again given a chance to clean up a Republic mess.

vote for the Repukes who hurt them anyway. We've seen it over and over throughout the last 50 years, why should the next election or two be any different?

...but few people are going to blame Democrats for the loss of Roe v. Wade. That will motivate many Democratic and Independent voters who never took the consequences of judicial appointments seriously enough to finally (after the horses have fled the barn) take it seriously now.

Unlike gas prices and COVID, which the uniformed don't know how to connect to anything but the party of the current President, even people living under rocks know that Republicans are the ones who've been pushing and pushing and pushing to overturn Roe v. Wade.

Republicans running in the next elections won't even be able to pretend that they'll be for restoring women's freedom to choose. They can pretend about many other things to appeal to moderate voters -- like promising somehow to magically get you better healthcare, being "strong" on defense, etc. -- but they can't pretend at all about abortion.

6. No, it's always "Why didn't Democrats stop ____?" They "allowed"/"let" Republicans do bad things.

The anti-Democratic message aimed at potential Democratic voters will be: Democrats had total control of the government for two years and did nothing because they're same as Republicans. Extra conspiracy theory message: Democrats would win if only the DNC didn't rig things in favor of corrupt elite establishment candidates beholden to donors/corporations. If only candidates were more inspiring, true progressives, had the right messaging -- the party must be transformed.

Always, everything's Democrats' fault. I'm hoping this cynical don't-vote message isn't as successful as it has been in the past.
