For instance the left have some silly peccadilloes that are open to parody and humorous jibes.

And the right are racist fascists who want to destroy democracy and make us a Christian oligarchy.

So, both sides.

alienate your natural allies over silly peccadilloes and thereby bring them under attack from both the center and the right. It's true everyone has some goofy ideas that are good for a tease once in a while, but I believe the righties are such a rich ground for it that they'll keep us in fun at least until Mexico pays for that wall.
