I sometimes walk stiffly, because I have arthritis in my knees and hips. My voice sometimes sounds scratchy, due to my age. I don't run up and down the stairs in my home because I'm not as nimble as I used to be.
My brain, however, is as good or better than it ever was. I continue to learn and think more clearly. I still write as well as I ever did.
So, please don't be concerned about me. I'm just fine. So is President Biden. He's just fine. You needn't worry about him. Really.
Instead, look at what he is accomplishing as our 46th President. Look at what he is planning to do, if our Congress will help him to do those things.
There's no need for concern. Truly there is not.

It's amazing that genuine concern is apparently something frowned upon by some here.

(23,018 posts)Here is the post: https://www.democraticunderground.com/100216108664
It was the first Ive heard Biden speak in a few days and noticed his voice sounded very different. Thought people here at DU might be helpful in pointing out news I had missed about it.
But I guess some here only see the very fucking worst and its the only thing they are capable of.
MineralMan
(146,313 posts)I did. Like I said, it is what he says that is important, not how he sounds.

(146,313 posts)Was that worth discussing?

(23,018 posts)You couldnt tolerate having someone actually have feelings of concern and could only see what I was saying in a negative light.
The fact that Biden was addressing the jobs numbers has little to do with anything here.
MineralMan
(146,313 posts)Doesn't it? I thought his remarks were cogent, to the point, and well-expressed. He seems right on point and clear in his thinking. Was he a little hoarse? Lots of people are this time of year, especially people who have to speak publicly all the time.
It has nothing to do with what I can tolerate at all. But, I'm always happy to respond to posts in my threads. I try to reply to everyone who takes the time to offer remarks in them.
hamsterjill
(15,220 posts)I read the thread. You are being accused of furthering some ridiculous right wing crap when all you did was ask about the mans voice. And
as we all know now, you were RIGHT!!!
I see the same posters on DU flocking to threads to stir up trouble. Either they dont take the time to read the posts or else they just think its fun to cause an uproar. I think most of us here are getting tired of their antics.
Im glad Joe will be okay and Im glad to see a DUer concerned enough to think about him.
As to the rest - good grief!!!

And why on earth would you make the erroneous assumption there are many members here who "supported other candidates" after the primary? I saw nothing of that on DU
Demsrule86
(68,576 posts)points. No one would continue to support 'other' candidates here but it is interesting to me that all he won't/shouldn't run in 24 and the 'concern' for his health comes from those who supported different candidates. And let me say the power of incumbency is huge. We would be very foolish to run anyone else if we don't have to. Biden is fine...there is not need for such 'concern'. And one should never post stuff that gives aid and comfort to Republicans and mirrors their talking points...not saying you have done that but I have seen posts here that have.

A cold almost never turns into pneumonia. It's just an upper respiratory thing. We all get them, and we continue to carry out our normal activities.
President Biden is not a doddering old fool who is too feeble to carry on when he has a cold. He is a healthy man of 79 years. He's doing just fine.
FoxNewsSucks
(10,433 posts)Maybe some crackpot on NewsMax will, but we don't give a damn what they say anyway.
JohnSJ
(92,192 posts)another thread absurd.
As for your assessment, a URI CAN turn into a "viral pneumonia", where the airways within your body can become constricted and inflamed, and at the President's age it always is a concern

(21,348 posts)gave me an ablation 2 years ago and have been fine since. There is even a new technique being done now that is 92% successful with A-fib. I didn't have the new technique because my blood pressure wasn't high enough. Back then it was in the study phase in the US even though this technique has been done in Europe for a year or more.
If you live in the Pittsburgh neighborhood, by chance, I can send you his info. I just had an ECHO done 3 weeks ago and my heart ejection % has gone up another 5%, I am now in the normal ejection % for a 70 year old. 3 years ago my ejection % was 30%, it is now 60%. Everything I posted, Knock on Wood.
Beartracks
(12,814 posts)We have some a-fibbers in my fami!y, and the topic of ablation has come up as a "permanent" fix if meds ever stop being effective.
So glad to hear of your continued improvement. That's a great outcome. 👍 We're nowhere near the eastern seaboard, but thanks for the info offer.
I'm not familiar with any newer technique that's different from ablation, but I'll do some Google research for my ongoing edification.

I love Joe, but I hope someone else runs in 2024. Joe will have been in the drivers seat long enough at that point. Id love to see a Kamala Harris/Pete Buttigege ticket in 2024.

(85,996 posts)...knocking people expressing concern HERE for the president's health (as you did in another thread) is unnecessarily accusatory.
Also, people age differently, as if that needed explanation.
Expressing concern about a raspy throat is not the venal ageism practiced by the rw. Insinuating that it is is sophistry, at best. It was asked and answered. That should be enough without trying to ridicule people here expressing genuine concern, your own predilections notwithstanding.

I always find that Biden was making perfect sense in the context of what he was talking about. Right-wing media and republicans in general are just plain liars when it comes to Biden.
