1. How does any parent tolerate sending their kids to school knowing the eminent horror?

You raise them and protect them as best you can. But hanging like a dark cloud over every school student is the fear that one or two bad apples will brandish an assault rifle with hundreds of rounds of ammunition and mass murder whomever crosses their path.

10. My son is 16 and a junior in high school.

Truth is, I memorize what he is wearing to school every single day. Every day. The 2nd day of school this year, his school went into lockdown over a threat made by a student who claimed he had a long gun hidden at school. My kid was texting me from room 335…third floor. He was asking me if it got bad, should he jump out the window or not. I almost can’t type this. I only have this one child.
