(9,463 posts)School closed for the funeral, and I sat with my Mom and sister with tears running down our cheeks. I will ALWAYS remember that feeling.
I was 13 and loved that the Kennedys were the First Family. It was so sad seeing Jackie Kennedy and the kids in some of the funeral coverage. Like you I remember sitting with my mom and several sisters crying thru the funeral.

(41,145 posts)of John Jr., others. A friend of my brother, Mark worked at Berdorf's in NY in the 80s, 90s. One time Jackie was shopping there, looking at sweaters. She nicely asked him if she could sit down for a moment to rest and have a bite of food to feel better, a sandwich she'd brought. He said certainly. What a lovely person and elegant lady.
