My anti-vaxxer nephew's anti-vaxxer wife is having 'health stuff' going on, and she's going to make an appointment with a doctor. Hopefully not that 'alternative medicine' guy.
They have a 5 year old daughter who isn't vaccinated for Covid or most anything else. The most she's had was the first round, when she was an infant. Then my nephew started 'researching'. He's informed us that by wearing masks, we're likely going to die, and die soon. Guess he researched that, too. I will say, he was never like this until his mom died, FAR too young, from cancer. Ever since, he's been off the rails, deep into conspiracy theories, alternative 'realities' and the dangers of just about everything, and refuses any of our attempts to reason with, help or counsel him.
At this point, all we can do is wait to see if she even will share anything with us, and hope it's nothing serious. (She is a lovely young woman, but kind of neurotic. She was really offended by her appendix when it burst, because she's a Vegan and only eats healthy stuff so nothing bad should happen to her health. Seriously. That's how she thinks.
I admit I'm not a big fan of modern medicine. I tend to get better faster with less intervention. But even I have started receiving flu, pneumonia and of course, Covid shots, since an ounce of prevention is now worth far more than a pound of cure.
So now I worry.

(15,124 posts)An anti-vaxxer I (somewhat) know, thinks if you eat organic food, then your immune system will protect you from everything.
Her daughter caught a cold and she blamed the fact that the daughter had eaten a candy bar.
Can't reason with that.
