In a marquee battle to save our planet, Green New Deal Democrat Jessica Cisneros is taking on

fossil fuel-funded conservative Henry Cuellar.

The Washington Post reports:
Cuellar is the fourth-biggest recipient in the House of oil and gas campaign contributions in the 2022 cycle so far, receiving $100,200, according to OpenSecrets.

"It's no surprise that as a result of his track record, he's known as Big Oil's favorite Democrat,” Cisneros said of Cuellar… “And it's no surprise that he's doing their bidding after all the support he's received from them."

Cuellar is still actively pushing back on the climate provisions in Biden’s Build Back Better bill and he strongly opposes a Green New Deal to take immediate, bold action to address the climate crisis.

In 2020, Jessica Cisneros came within 3,000 votes of beating Cuellar. And Six PAC supporters like you have helped raise over $10,000 for her rematch this year.

Jessica’s refusing dirty fossil fuel money, which means she needs your help. Donate to help a Green New Deal champion win!

Thanks for your support.

I went to look a bit because I'd never heard of her and did not know where she was running.

Jessica Cisneros (Democratic Party) is running for election to the U.S. House to represent Texas' 28th Congressional District. She declared candidacy for the Democratic primary scheduled on March 1, 2022.

Jessica Cisneros was born in Laredo, Texas. She earned an undergraduate degree from the University of Texas at Austin in 2015 and a graduate degree from the University of Texas at Austin School of Law in 2018. Cisneros' career experience includes working as an attorney, an immigrant rights advocate, and as a clerk.[1]
