Sorry folks but we need a stronger AG I am just being as honest as I can be.

MG is not getting anything done. I watch RM last night and could hardly watch.Even she is shaken. why can't Biden do like Trump and put acting officials in place in the FBI like the ones Trump got rid of. I know Biden is a nice moral man, but we are at the end of our democracy and he needs some better advisors to start bringing guns to gun fights. I believe we are done in 22 if something does not change. you have judges changing their minds about retiring.Repukes paid them off.You have many judges letting the states get away with about to flip elections. What is Garland doing about it. I hate to say it, but we need a Bill Barr as AG because in all honestly, I do not care about the other infrastructure bill right now. I think we better do something like yesterday about the voting rights.

Do what Trump would do.Threat them and pull those people who Trump put in FBI out. Congress should impeach those judges who are put in by Trump because you better believe if they take back this house, Biden will be impeached the first day the new congress begin. I am only watching hear and there, but only keep up here and watch Rachael. We all should be worried. I need to see the Dems fighting dirty and not let these quacks run all over them.It will take all of us. I guess I am just grieving for the country we are about to lose and Trump will be another Putin.

we need Lincoln Project crew and start talking voting rights. Start arresting all who don't show up to testify. It is not looking good for us.Tim Ryan has been the only Dem I have seen blast these people and Whitehorse.Put them out front for our talking points. Also find a good nominee who can run in 24, because it has nothing to do with Biden, but I honestly do not think he will run.I don't think Pete or Kamala will be accepted by all. We need someone like Newsome or who has balls like Cuomo, who is not afraid to stand up to these traitors. I don't care about his past.Look at Trump. We have to change because being nice is not going to cut it. JMHO.

ATLANTA — The Justice Department announced on Monday that it had closed an investigation into the abduction and murder of Emmett Till, the African American teenager whose gruesome killing by two white men more than six decades ago in Mississippi helped begin the civil rights movement.

In a news release dated Dec. 6, federal officials said there was not enough evidence to pursue charges in the case, which was reopened after a historian claimed in a book that Carolyn Bryant Donham, the central witness whose account of an encounter with Emmett led to his death, had recanted the most salacious portions of her story — that he had grabbed her and made sexually suggestive remarks.

You know my posting from this board. I may not come here often because the news always goes against Dems..But I watch Rachael and this is where my questions comes from if you must know. I come and drop in here and there. I try to stay away from politics, but listening to Rachael and her feelings and her worry has me worried. Maybe you should go back and read my threads here before you start accusing me of anything. I am just here trying to give my opinion in my frustration. I am not interested in anything but the voting rights act passed, and packing the courts, as well as my party being a little more touches than playing nice because it is not working anymore. I am about to give it all up. We only have a few months with this Jan6 and nothing is getting done by this JD when it comes to getting the big dogs. If the traitors does take over the Government next year, you will feel what went wrong.

I won't be thinking it, because I would be like many who already see the coup as just dress rehearsal. Also the state house throwing out votes. I don't think this would be anything the Q people would be here with a red sign blinking. So I wish you would respect other people view who belong to this board just as you. I may not come a lot, but I lurk and this is why I was not even going to give my opinion because it would be blow back or accusing me of crap I know nothing about. I am just a concerted out of my head of our democracy about to go up in smoke. I am not bashing anyone, I am just scared of what I see. If I come here, I need someone to kind of talk me off the ledge, but if I keep getting crazy rants about my place here, like I don't belong, then I will just unsubscribe and be done.Thank you for the ones who does know me and not accuse me of all these accusations that has no truth in them. This is not a joke, this ism our country we are losing. able to get a conviction. It would be awful to have him acquitted. I think we put everything ....all Trump's dirty deeds out there...and hope it makes a difference to the voters. Personally, I do not believe we will be able to convict Trump...there will always be a Trumper on the jury.

I think both sides know that bringing charges is one thing, but having a trial without an acquittal is another.
Look no further than Trump's two impeachments.........

There is not a chance in hell that any courts, at any level, can seat a jury without at least one Republican Trump Humper on it, and both sides know it....How many trials are we having for the insurrectionists???????? Or for that matter any of the Trump Cabinet or Administration?????????

I certainly do not envy Biden, or any member of his cabinet or administration......he was handed a Conflagration...........

Tue Dec 7, 2021, 05:43 PM
Dec 2021

He knows how power works in that town. He knows the law having seen hundreds upon hundreds of cases. He knows the people. He was a judge, he knows what will fly. He knows a lot about DOJ, and its administration. He's not a hard-charging prosecutor like you see on TV, who have spent their careers in one niche role.

We don't need nuclear cases. We need a handful of pinpoint perfect legal cases that get the job done. I share the idea that it's not going fast enough. Congress dilly-dalllied too. But who exactly could make all the parts move faster?

For me the yearning got really old long ago for our own "Barr" who'd smash through the constraints of the law -- but legally!, "lock 'em all up" -- but legally!, and make us all safe -- legally enough as long as it's us on top.

The GOP is burning down the structure of a Democratic government based on law and order and the AG + Dem leadership appear just fine standing back and watching it happen. President Biden needs to make some cabinet adjustments ASAP.

If your solution is Cuomo, I don't think you're paying attention. He just claimed defeat from the jaws of victory. The women were just a symptom of a bigger problem. He was a lousy manager and listened to his ego instead of the experts. Talk to someone who has worked with him before you start promoting him for president.

Tue Dec 7, 2021, 06:47 PM
Dec 2021

Lots of excellent reporting and analysis at emptywheel of the minutia regarding the January 6 committee investigation and various DOJ prosecutions and investigations.

Here’s a good place to start:

https://www.emptywheel.net/2021/12/03/ten-things-tv-lawyers-can-do-rather-than-whinging-about-merrick-garland/

If you take the time to educate yourself, you will see how complex it is to bring a successful prosecution that reaches the top tier of the Trump administration. You will also realize that lack of information about DOJ investigations is not evidence that no investigations are taking place.

It took nine months to indict George Papadapolous for making false statements.

(As this appears to be a hit and run OP with no further engagement by the author, hopefully others will find emptywheel to be a valuable resource)

75. Not a Trump-like AG, an AG that actually prosecutes traitors
Tue Dec 7, 2021, 06:54 PM
Dec 2021

The Georgia phone call, the 1/6 attempt to stop an election, the numerous attempted deals with foreign powers to rig elections and fabricate "evidence: all the evidence is there and just being sat on.

WHY is all that evidence not being used to prosecute traitors and specifically Trump? It's either incompetence or complicity and they both reek of corruption. The kind of corruption that exists in a country without a functional system of justice.

There's no valid reason to wait to prosecute traitors to the U.S., none.

I never thought as a Dem to be so rejected as I do when I come here. I guess I may be better off finding another safe haven to express my fears. It is always like this when I come here. I take a break from time to time because of all that is going on. I have depression problems and this kind of blowback that does not make it better. FYI I never bashed Biden or want him like Trump, or I would not have voted for them. I am saying my feelings of where this country seems to be with age, race, and gay bashing by the religeuos right that will not vote for either of them.I would vote for them if they run because I am a Democrat.I also do not know what the DOG is up too. I just have a problem for putting all this on congress if they have no special prosecutor when they will make people testify. I feel DOG should be going after top dogs, follow the money, because these thugs were only going by the crap they were hearing. I wish DOG would get some RICO folks in and more help. All you have to do is watch Rachael and if you don't feel her fear, you missed her point.I read the new books out about this coup and take over going on. How all the news media and Michael Flynn brother and many other departments are still there under Trump. Thank you and God bless you for the ones who had my back. Have a blessed Christmas and please pray for our country,I know I am. I am done with this. You can call me all the kinds of lies you won't. I just won't be responding. Thank you to the ones who see where I am coming from and realize I am not ill feeling towards our leaders of the Democratic party. Thank what you want. I said my truth in my opinion, and leaving it there.

I don't want to see Biden turn to Trump's style of thuggery, but We are on a very short timetable and Garland doesn't seem to have any sense of urgency about this.

I'm an old man and have lived through the Cuban Missile crisis and Watergate, but I have never feared for the future of our country until now.
