I guess because of how idiotic his state is in general he has to do this but it’s bad for the country.

I’ve worked up there and it is all small biz. Even oil and gas is not heavily staffed. Maybe that coal mine in Coalstrip? If it hasn’t gone bankrupt once Newmont bought them.

Still have timber and cattle, a few businesses are kind of big but it's more that he needs to, also, keep in good stead with the non-Democrats who vote for him. Right now, he's the only sane one we've got in DC or the Gov's mansion.

Going on in big business interests here than one might imagine. There's Delaware North, a big business that operates a lot of the tourism industry here. A lot of the cattle operations are corporate owned as well.

with fewer people than Chicago. It is remote, generally unsuitable for development, and not very crowded.

So, what works for Montana and Alaska is meaningless for where 99% of the population lives.

Montana population in 2021 is expected to be 1.09 million

so the Chicago area pop is almost 10 times the size

I know Jon is trying to keep his job and prevent our whole fucking state from going to the dark side. MT gained an additional Congressional seat with our population tipping just over the 1 million mark and Ryan "the crook" Zinke is running for it so we have that to worry about too. We need to keep Jon Tester in the Senate. He is nothing like Manchin or Sinema. He's was all for the infrastructure bill and BBB. He can't be painted with the same broad brush.

the mandates were probably overreach. certainly they were a broad interpretation of regulations. but he had to do something to move the needle (pun intended).
