2. The Republicans are doing the same with her that they did

with Hillary. They want to eliminate her as a presidential candidate in 2024 or 2028. Just last week
the Republican guys at the coffee shop were all fired up about something someone saw on the internet about
her being a prostitute. There is no limit on how low they will go. They tell this crap and say it is true they
saw it on some web site.

3. The way our country treats women leaders says a lot about our culture.

The United States is way behind most other countries in the level of irrational fear and resentment toward strong women. It warps our entire culture.

regularly make remarks about her "blowing" her way to the top. There is regard paid to her credentials. They want to attribute everything to sexual acts. It's despicable, but reflects how many men among the Republicans are so quick to denigrate.

You’re “a go-getter,” you “tell it like it is,” “no nonsense”, a “ leader”.

If you’re a woman, you’re “shrill,” “a bully”, “mean” or a “bitch”.

10. Exactly. It's an impossible line between too soft to be a leader and a bitch.

As someone who spent a career in corporate America, I can’t remember all the times women managers were negatively compared to men and the number of supremely competent women who were passed over for promotions in favor of men who were often less competent. Or the meetings where men interrupted and talked over women all the time.

In this country, women are seen not as legitimate leaders but as subordinate to men. Some of that is the resurgence of the white evangelical right, but it’s an ingrained belief even among some well educated people. I still remember a street interview done during the 2016 election where passersby were asked who they favored for president and why. One woman responded that she did not think Hillary should even be a candidate because women just shouldn’t be president. That’s a man’s job. Even with all the gains of the last decades, misogyny is alive and well in this country.

It’s unbelievable that other women just hated Hillary so much. My own sister was one of them. I never understood it.

If only they could have put their hate on hold long enough to listen to her policies …

I remember some man in an interview back then said that Hillary reminds every man of that teacher in school they hated, or an ex wife they hated. Jut freaking unbelievable the misogyny.

She probably isn't a bully. Plenty of white house staffers leave in their first year after finding the job isn't what they wanted or expected. I'm sure it's stressful. This happened with Trump and Pence too.
