212 House Republicans vote to slash billions of dollars from Medicare

By Josh Israel -December 8, 2021 10:50 AM

Just one GOP representative voted for a bill to prevent automatic cuts to Medicare, which also will help avert a catastrophic debt default.

The House of Representatives passed a bill on Tuesday to prevent massive automatic cuts to Medicare and farm supports, 222-212. But nearly every Republican voted against the bill, which also contains provisions to help avert a catastrophic default on the national debt.

Just one Republican — retiring Rep. Adam Kinzinger (R-IL) — joined every Democrat in voting for the "Protecting Medicare & American Farmers from Sequester Cuts Act," a bipartisan approach to handling two looming fiscal crises at the same time.

Due to previously passed laws aimed at reducing the federal budget deficit and increased spending this year to address the COVID-19 pandemic, the nation is facing billions of dollars' worth of automatic cuts to Medicare, reduced payments to physicians, and slashed support for farmers, social services, and people with disabilities in early 2022.

These fucking republican penny pinchers for the wealthy pigs..
Guess I will have a harder time finding healthcare.

And because of the greedy and tax cuts they gotta get, I guess I should used to being food insecure and try to eat a good diet on less and those ssi cuts welp the future is going to suck.

Why because those that have it all wanna rob the poor.

Make them desperate enough hungry and sick enough desperate for thier kids they'll do anything to make the suffering stop, including
Indentured servitude, and with more cuts they'll be chattel.

People of low income are slowly getting fucked over by billionairs.

I hate selfish greedy assholes with too much money. Why cant these fuckers be happy with what they have already.

But no they love it when thier servant rethugs stick it to the poors and they get more money they won't spend.

I despise this bullshit. Republicans are dark triad pieces of shit.. It will hurt a lot of people as they continually whittle down public services..

Budget for the military that was just posted here earlier that not a peep was heard to debate or question. Of course that tax cut is on us, the real taxpayers. It always rolls downhill..count on it.

Republicans would be in front of every camera they could find for months hammering us on this if the roles were reversed. This is what people are referring to with our poor messaging.

And Fox watching seniors will still vote for the GOP.
The majority of seniors vote for the Party that wants to cut Medicare and Social Security.

I read a few years ago that the average Medicare recipient gets back 3-5x what they paid in for taxes. Clearly a tax increase and expansion is necessary. Medicare already reimburses less that private insurance to hospitals. Often it’s not enough to cover the costs of treating a Medicare patient. The whole system is broken.
