Grandfather killed in I-5 road rage shooting, police say

Lufino Reyes Mejorado, 60, was shot multiple times Monday on Interstate 5 in a road rage incident that began on another freeway, the California Highway Patrol said.

David Perry, 33, of Sacramento, was arrested in the killing and booked into the Sacramento County Main Jail. It was not immediately known if he has an attorney who can speak on his behalf.

Officers said the events started unfolding at about 2:15 p.m. Monday on Interstate 80. Both vehicles drove west before getting on southbound I-5, the highway patrol said.

Perry pulled up his Mercedes sedan next to Mejorado’s pickup truck and opened fire, the highway patrol said
