I was so honored to have been able to meet him, courtesy of Governor Granholm. He was so kind and gracious, and when I told him I was also a Navy veteran, he smiled. IMHO, he would have made an incredibly great, honorable and effective President. Thank goodness he stayed engaged in our government. We need thousands more like him.

(998 posts)Got to meet him and the Edwards family. The entire experience of working with the campaign and talking with potential voters was incredible. And OMG so was the pain on election night. Still have a few campaign mementos tucked away.
We are blessed as a nation to have John Kerry in service to our nation.

Trillions can clearly and will need to be invested, said Kerry. That would come from a variety of sources, including partnerships under development among rich countries, multilateral development banks, philanthropies and the private sector.

I had the honor of voting for all of these candidates but Humphrey. I would have voted for Humphrey and was otherwise eligible to, but I had no voting residence in the USA at the time. I had left to live and work abroad when I was 20 and the voting age was 21. I was not able to register to vote until my return when I was 27. So George McGovern was the first Dem Presidential candidate that I was able to vote for.
1968 - Hubert Humphrey
1972 - George McGovern
1980 - Jimmy Carter
1984 - Walter Mondale
1988 - Michael Dukakis
2000 - Al Gore
2004 - John Kerry
2016 - Hillary Rodham Clinton
All of these losses were heartbreakers.
But Hillary's loss was the absolute worst for me. And for our country and for the world!
