(13,623 posts)I can tell if those come from one of their plants, but I probably wouldn't need more before the strike is settled. I stocked up on that kind of thing at the start of the pandemic and have only replaced what I used. I'm good for six months or so. I sure hope they win before that.

(13,874 posts)The boycott in the 60s was to support Cesar Chavez and the farm workers attempts to unionize. I remember in the book that there was a dinner at the Kennedy White House where they announced that grapes would not be served.

(3,403 posts)We have adopted a diet, which is not for the sole purpose of loosing weight, that is just a bonus, it is more to eat healthy and regenerate a lot of what bad food has sickened.
My brother-in-law went from size 42 to size 34, my sister-in-law went from size 14 to size 8, my wife lost 12 lbs...I am the only one who has not lost anything, but then again I don't have a lot to loose weight wise.
The other bonus is that we have reduced are monthly expenses in food by 2/3s, we now spend just 1/3 of what we used to. Our garbage is the same, from two bags we have gone to one, recycle went from three bins to one...Our compost is the one that has grown a bit, but that is a good thing.
Change your diet, become healthy, loose weight, save money, and we will all force the food industry to do better, organic food will become more available, and cheaper.
By the way, part of this diet demands eliminating carbs like bread, pasta, rice. I thought it was going to be hard, but it is not. There are substitutes for everything, you will not miss any of it in a few months.

(12,480 posts)Does wonders to control my diabeties. Also lost a ton of weight and still losing.
Its not all organic but I mostly eat meat(try to get organic farm raised meat) and veggies and a tiny bit of fruit.

(21,854 posts)but you could make a lot of things from scratch. You may not completely avoid every asshole corporation but you would definitely decrease your patronage of asshole corporations.

(6,934 posts)as long as the bad behavior lasts, and not longer.
If it keeps going beyond that, then it still sends a massage, but not the one the botcott was intended to send.
Of course, with some companies, like Nestle, one form of bad behavior just gets replaced with another ad infinitum.
