Let me see if I got this right.
Letitia James is going after Trump in civil court that could cost the Trump Org. hundreds of millions of dollars.
I just heard that Trump's main banker from Deutche bank is talking to Cy Vance's criminal prosecutors. To make matters worse, it was reported on Lawrence O'Donnell that Trump's accountant has been given immunity by Cy Vance and is testifying before a grand jury. Remember now, Vance has the tougher job because he has to prove criminal intent, well... guess who can cough up criminal intent, yup, the accountant. Mr. accountant did Trump know that lying about this property was illegal? Mr. accountant, did Donald tell you to commit a crime or you would be fired? Something to that effect.
Not a good couple of days for Donald Trump. I predicted 3 years ago that Donald would have a nervous breakdown, conditions are right.
Oh and Liz Cheney has a hold of his throat.

(19,204 posts)The SC is up next, but I doubt they'll see it. They'll throw it back down to the lower courts, but they've been pretty well exhausted.
Time to man up and give them the tax returns, asshole. Or are they still being audited, 10 years later?

(19,204 posts)for four years, but he's run out of weak-kneed subordinates to push around. You only get those if you're a crooked president, and although he remains crooked, he's no longer president. 😁

(42,770 posts)It's all confidential if you are under an audit. And if you pay additional taxes owed unless you don't (levy).
I do remember Michael Cohen saying he never ever once saw a notice about an audit of any kind from the IRS.
If IRS never audited or never found anything, why not.

(21,360 posts)I have been screaming that DOJ needs to get involved that the select committee doesn't have time to nail Trump.
But
The states have stepped up. Fulton County, Ga. DA is investigating Trump's attempt to overturn their election. I wish that DOJ would also be involved, but..
Hearing tonight that Trump's accountant has been given immunity and is testifying before a grand jury is concrete action. Hearing that in the same case that Trump's banker from Deutche bank where Trump got millions of dollars in suspicious loans is talking to prosecutors is concrete action.
The thing about Trump that pisses us off is that he has committed so many obvious crimes and he is never held accountable. The other thing is because he has committed so many crimes maybe some prosecutors are going to do something about some of them?

(21,360 posts)She isn't going after Meadows, she is putting Meadows on her hook. She is going after the big fish.
When she repeated 2 days in a row the exact crime that Trump committed, the crime that he can be indicted on, she was talking to Merrick Garland.

(5,315 posts)She most likely has no chance to get re-elected next November.
She's pissed, she's out for blood, and she's dangerous as hell to any republican who had anything to do with this.

(4 posts)All the people who DON'T breathe through their mouths (mostly Democrats) should vote Liz Cheney back into office. If only both of the Democrats in Wyoming could agree on that, it could be a landslide!
/s
I just see Liz as one of the few honest Republicans, but forget talk about her becoming a Democrat or even working with centrist Democrats. Based on her voting record, she would be worse than another Manchin or Sinema as a hard line right winger. I still appreciate her honesty and dedication to Country.

I don't as a practice wish bad things of this kind to happen. I really do want the MAGATS to see their God-King answering the judge and prosecutors. I want him to live a long uncomfortable life behind bars where they don't play golf or tennis and his roommate is 6'5" and 285Lbs. I also want the entire dark money connection exposed and ripped apart, along with 35 or so prominent GOP members and a number of very nasty Christo- Fascist plutocrats arrested and tried for treason. I also want to see the RGA and RAGA arrested and busted for violating the Civil Rights Act, along with egregious corruption and bribery.
That will do for a start.

(10,126 posts)But he could not do the things he has done without the help of the Republican party
I think the GOP will toss him before 2024.
Like us, they probably can't stand him either.
He was a means for them to cling to power.
I'd love to see Trump prosecuted and lose all his money and go to jail.
But it is his enablers who remain that trouble me.
They'll replace Trump with Ron DeSantis or someone and carry on stealing elections and looting the wealth of the country.
The enablers are the ones who need to face justice.
