I do not think AG Garland should be in a rush to charge Meadows at this moment.

This is just my opinion.

But I think he should let it simmer a while. Let more information come out. There is much more than just a contempt charge that needs to be looked at.

There is obstruction of justice, sedition, and treason that must be looked at. At the very minimum, there is an obstruction charge, for interfering with a Federal procedure, namely the counting of the Electoral votes.

There may be other charges that the DOJ wants to look at?

The Republicans are running scared at this time. The discovery of their treasonous acts is very embarrassing and they are ready to lash out in self-defense.

I think they need to simmer in their own juices for a while...

It doesn't mean he can't add other charges on top at a later date. I think we need to get the ball rolling.

The House just voted to refer contempt charges to the DA. I don't believe they actually sent out the referral yet.

We have no idea what else the DoJ and House have on them, we are still only seeing the parts they want us to see, there is certainly far more

He will take a solid month to charge Meadows with contempt, like he did with Bannon.

the kind of lawyer he was appointed to be. Even though the predominant, or at least noisiest, attitude is that he and other state attorneys are too slow.

The Speedy Trial Act does say that a defendant has to be indicted within a month of arrest or summons to be tried. However, the arrest or summons can be delayed by lawyers whose job it is to confuse things. The trial can also, and usually is, delayed by defense lawyers playing their tricks. Since the law is supposed to benefit defendants (and usually has an effect only on low-level defendants) wealthy and connected defendants can easily stretch things out forever.

In Slobfather's case, every i must be dotted and tee crossed before they even think of indicting a former President where they have to have every potential land mine deactivated.

The details we are only learning about now may have been missing from the cases he is developing, And we, the public, don't know the half of it. All we know is what cases he is currently working on.

None of the calls for him to hurry up make any sense, and making the traitors sweat is but one of the more apparent benefits of his meticulous approach.

It doesn't matter if footage exists of every Republikkkan member of congress forcibly sodomizing livestock on a carpet made of shredded flags stolen from fallen soldiers' funerals; the Republikkkan base will still vote for them like the cult of ignorant racist fuckheads that they are.

I accept that Garland will move at his own pace, but holy shit there better be a payoff, or in a few short months we'll be looking at a Republican congress and nonstop impeachments of Biden & Harris.
