Every time I'm advised to get a shot for this virus, I will do so. Just as I will be wearing a mask in public for the rest of my life.

(1,910 posts)The sheer effort of right wing nuts to achieve that is impressive. It is almost impossible to imagine a country where a free vaccine has been available for a year at every drug store and supermarket and county fair....could be this full of such utter fools.
If Al Gore warned them that touching a hot stove was dangerous, we would have 50 million Americans walking around with bandaged hands right now.

(792 posts)Many of the quoted scientists speak very definitely but the headline of the article says these are theories.
Should this information be treated as settled science or conjecture?
I think we should avoid getting into the weeds and stick to the simple message that the overwhelming scientific consensus is these vaccines are safe and effective.

(11,258 posts)And remember that those studies have been going on for a bit of time now. Things are a little murkier, however, when it comes to how the vaccines will respond to Omicron. That's all brand new. A consensus is starting to form there as well, but it's still very, very preliminary, which is why the experts qualify their answers.
