Currency is a fungible token of value. A dollar is a paper/linen bill that is reproduced officially by the US Treasury Dept. It has a value that is determined by economic activity, etc...

Non-fungible tokens are digital files that have a value assigned to them by the originator of the file. There is a unique digital signature that is hashed in code and follows that NFT around to verify its authenticity and uniqueness, which is how it retains or gains in value.

In EXTREMELY simplistic terms, it is rare so it is valuable. Digitally manufactured scarcity supposedly protected by complex codes and block chaining.

In my opinion, it is a scam waiting to happen, which I am sure, is why the Trump's are getting involved.
