A change to "I voted" after one has voted ... I was told, is a DU tradition. If you have already voted I am asking you to participate in this tradition and change your avatar. It would be nice to see all of those who have already voted. I know I could hardly wait and once I did it was an exceptionally empowering and freeing feeling, even though I have done it before. I feel my vote this time was more important somehow because so much is riding on this election like women's rights, the economy, education, wars and the Supreme Court's future for example. I shared the line with more than a few young people that were voting for the first time. When the young lady in front of me was told to wait because they could not find her registration my heart sank. Fifteen minutes and three poll workers later they figured out the problem and she voted. As good as I felt after I voted I can only imagine how she was feeling. Let's show our DU support and change that avatar, please. And please pass the word. Thank you, LMSP
Please also rec the post to keep it going. Thank you.

(885 posts)Early voting starts October 27th in Florida. I'm one of those paranoids who wants to vote in person so I will be doing so on that day.
Can't wait to change my avatar!

(39,343 posts)that they were pushing down here. Saturday will be nuts around here between the lines at fewer early voting sites and the UGA/FL football game here in Jax.

(22,722 posts)It is a name that was given to me with meanness but I now wear it with pride. First person in my family for several generations to get a college degree that I paid for myself working three jobs while going to school. No loans, thank goodness. Thanks for the compliment. I like those too!
