He was only 52 years old! What can you say? “Send my thoughts and prayers”? Sad to hear this, but these people have no one else to blame! I don’t mean to be cruel.

5. He's the one who was in El Salvador when he got it.

He then begged people to get him back to the US for treatment.

He has fought vaccines and mask mandates, even to the point of introducing legislation against mandates.

It's very, very weird to me that he was in El Salvador at all. What was he doing there? I can't imagine a Washington State senator would have any official business there. He represents an area near Bellingham.

That all said, I find this incredibly sad. He has a wife and two daughters and now they have this happen right before Christmas.

8. In a nutshell:

He was supposedly "monitoring elections" in El Salvador, but why would that be his job? A two-bit politician from Washington state monitoring elections in another country? Ridiculous. He was really there to conduct some dirty business of his own, and charge his expenses to Washington taxpayers.

He was strongly and vocally anti-vaccine mandate as well as being a climate change denier. He came down with Covid in El Salvador, and begged his Republican colleagues to send him Regeneron, which is not available in El Salvador. That didn't happen, so finally someone - it's not clear who - paid for a Medevac flight to Florida. It may have been illegal for him to re-enter the United States with Covid.

And now he's dead. The End.
