Joe Manchin's "no" vote is a volley in the Civil war between Repubs and Democrats.

I heard his explanation. Dumbest logic I ever heard. He does more for the Republican agenda, ensuring that Biden fails. That's all they have. Make Democrats look like they are failures at running this country, so Republicans can use the soundbites to win elections and make everything worse.

But, getting back to Joe Manchin's decision. He blamed, er, explained that his decision was due to the uncertainty we have today. Among the issues that perturbed him, he mentioned bipartisan unrest and Covid to name a couple. So, he says that he couldn't see himself explaining his vote to his constituents to West Virginia. And that's where his logic jumps the tracks.

The BBB would ease hardship for families in this time of Covid and economic uncertainty and Joe Manchin just said that he can't support making this difficult time easier for them.

I just have to wonder about the West Virginia voter. I think they have been brainwashed into thinking that suffering is their lot in life.

It was just a very slow death. Progressives warned us repeatedly that this is exactly what would happen. “Moderates” betrayed Joe Biden, betrayed our country, and betrayed our party.

Some people may call them right wing extremists.

been funded either. But the split absolutely killed any chance of BBB — even the severely scaled back version.

People of West Virginia will be poorer, colder, hungrier, still struggling to pay for Child Care, pay for medications, pay for heating, during the Christmas holidays all the while Joe Manchin sits in his huge home with his family. Makes me wonder how many presents will be under his tree.

Bad humbug , Joe Manchin. Stuff your face while your constituents struggle. Let the constant protests continue. Give him no quarter.

Being clear that BBB and BIF are a package deal and then switching course was terrible. A loss (failed vote) on the whole package would have been much less of a political blow.
