The "inconvenient truth" is that we must win most of the midterm elections next year. Despite what all the Chicken Littles and the bought-and-paid-for TV mouthpieces say, the '22 midterms are not a "done deal". To repeat their glib assumptions is to surrender the race before we leave the gate. DON'T DO THAT!

(24,316 posts)what happens to the majority party two years after a presidential election, please point to the time in history when said mid-term election came two years after the minority party tried to violently overthrow the government in a failed coup event. Point to the time in history when the minority party smeared shit on the walls of the Capitol building and assaulted Capitol Police. Show me the time in history when the Capitol Police had to use deadly force to protect the safety of Congressional members.
This is a different time. This will not be a typical election. There will be no next election if we lose the next two, be it at the ballot box or by violence.

(14,322 posts)and the investigations for the insurrection will be in full swing. Some subpoena deniers could wind up in jail. So could Trump, for that matter.
And the 14th Amendment gives us authority to expel a few crazies from both chambers over the insurrection, if we have the fortitude.
Its definitely not over.

(43,257 posts)DUers need to visit the website of their local Democratic County Committee, and get on any mailing lists they send out. I can't speak for your town, but we have socials, events, fundraisers, mailing lists. What we didn't have at election time last fall was canvassers and texters, from what little I heard. There was also this DU post from NJ: https://www.democraticunderground.com/10663270
That's exactly what we need to do. Be a force. Individually. Collectively. Together. Be in touch with your local committee people. Get involved. Push them to do more, ask what help they need. My sense is money is not really the problem. Motivated workers are a bit more scarce. Don't let it be the next guy. Let it be you.
