I dont want to hear that investigating Members of Congress is unprecedented. So is participating in a coup.
Lock them up! That is all.

My dim memories serve up an Alex Haig who tried to do a soft coup while Reagan was incapacitated. Of course this involved repuglicons. And reagun was always incapacitated. That's how "they" want it.

(7,434 posts)Now, I'm not implying that they are incompetent. We just know very little about how they are dealing with the insurrection. If we can assume that they are competent, then we can broadly infer a few things. First, that they already know about the participations of members of Congress because they can access phone records from the NSA, if no one else, and they can do it in complete secrecy. Second, the DOJ has known how massive this conspiracy is, and how complicated, how complex, how appallingly frightful these revelations have been. THEY HAVE TO KNOW ALL OF THE ANSWERS BEFORE THEY ASK THE QUESTIONS of the defendants and the witnesses for the public record.
If we do not have faith that the DOJ is doing its job, and we are right, then we should admit that the nation has already dissolved and that what we are seeing right now is Potemkin Governing. It's just window dressing, and our democracy is only skin-deep. So if we do not have faith that the DOJ is doing its job, we must be wrong. There are too many leaders who are fighting to prevent an overthrow. So the Constitution must still be viable.
