Why the MSM wants Republicans back in power

Sorry... long rant ahead.

Ever since the day the election was called for Biden all we've heard from political pundits on cable news is that Democrats are going to lose the House in the midterms. And now, heading into 2022, the MSM is gleefully predicting the midterms are going to be a bloodbath for Democrats. And keep asking Biden if he's going to run again like they are desperate for a Biden vs Trump rematch in 2024.

At this point the media acts like we shouldn't bother holding midterm elections and accept the fact that Kevin McCarthy and Mitch McConnell will soon be leading congress and then will reinstall Trump as President in 2024.

Question is why is the media so impatient for that to happen? It's like they can't wait for Democrats to get blown out next November and for Trump to declare another run for President.

My guess is it's all about ratings and $$$. Fact is when Democrats are in power the news is boring. That's because a functioning government is supposed to be boring. Legislation and bureaucracies aren't a WWE event or reality TV show.

Simply put Trump, Marjorie Taylor Green, Laura Boebert, Matt Gaetz and all the other shock jocks in the GOP generate a lot of click bait and ad revenue for these networks. Crazy sells. Reporters know covering the Democrats battles over legislation doesn't pull in the ratings.

So CNN would rather cover the former guy who calls them the enemy of the people and members of congress who tried to overturn an election than change their programming and approach to covering the news to appeal to more viewers. Instead their using the same old "both sides-ism" playbook. Which viewers are sick to death of.

5. A functioning government isn't boring. But it's not sensational.

There is nothing boring about the economy, international relations, the struggle to maintain the peace. But the interesting aspects of these and other concerns of a functioning government can't be summed up in a headline.

The media makes money more easily from sensationalism than from honest reporting of the concerns of government. And today's American media is only interested in making money.

9. We all have our interpretations of the news...

..but I don't see MSM wanting it to happen but simply reminding us of historical statistics and reporting information that is going to help it happen. The primary topics I see (all day long) on MSNBC are covid, the Jan 6 Committee, Trump, his co-conspirators, Joe Manchin, inflation and the Dems' not so healthy approval rating.

The fact that the Dems might get blown out of the water in 2022 appears to be a reasonable prediction at the moment and the MSNBC crowd brings it up to remind the Dems and Administration they need to change directions, change the message, change the filibuster, pass a damn bill...something, anything to make Joe Sixpack think they are in control.

Just the way I see it...
