I grew up hearing stories about the UAW '37 sit-down strike - from friends and classmates whose fathers, grandfathers, and uncles took part in it.

It's heartwarming to hear that they take care of people in need. Best wishes and speedy recovery to Mr. Hahn.

This is another thing that irks me. The anti-union right wingers spread the rumors that union workers are lazy and don't do anything.

My dad was a union machinist who worked his ass off. In Summer the place could get as hot as 90 degrees. When he retired he was spent and had bone spurs from years of working on concrete floors, real bone spurs, not ones that you pay your doctor conjure up to get out of the service.

I hope we hear more of these stories.
