These types of people were always on the conservative side - TFG just gave them an excuse to show themselves, and for four years they saw him getting away with it with little to no consequences and thought they could too. Emboldened they held their white power marches and stormed the capitol and thought there would be no repercussions. It's the same with anti-vaxxers. Okay, fine, you want the freedom to not get vaccinated, but with that freedom comes consequences and responsibilities. You don't just get to do whatever shit you want and think no once can call you on it.
