From what I vaguely remember from catechism, this holiday celebrates the birth of a being, one of whose titles was "prince of peace". Pretty sure that does not mean being armed with things designed to kill as many people as possible as quickly as possible ( also vaguely remember something about "thou shalt NOT kill". I could be misremembering.), and claiming to be doing it in that entity's name. Personally, if I were that entity, I would be a trifle miffed.

Am I missing some logical connection here? Was some new version of that story recently discovered? A new rosetta stone? Or are they all just lying, pandering hypocrites who think all the rest of us are stupid?
