Fauci says U.S. should consider vaccine mandate for domestic air travel

The federal government should consider requiring Covid-19 vaccines for domestic flights, the nation's top infectious disease expert said Monday.

"When you make vaccinations a requirement, that's another incentive to get more people vaccinated," said Dr. Anthony Fauci in an interview on MSNBC's "Morning Joe." "If you want to do that with domestic flights, I think that's something that seriously should be considered."

There is no indication at this point that a vaccine mandate is on its way for U.S. flights. When asked on MSNBC, Fauci, White House chief medical advisor, declined to say whether he has made the recommendation to President Joe Biden.

The White House, when asked for comment, referred CNBC to Biden's statement to ABC News last week, "It's been considered," Biden said, "but the recommendation I've gotten, it's not necessary."

6. Yes we have vaccine and mask mandates for any federally regulated businesses and in our province

(maybe all provinces) any government building, federal, provincial or local, including arenas. Most businesses require masks. I am astounded that the US has not required proof of full vaccinations to fly or take a train or bus. I just cannot understand why not, you want more people to vaccinate then make it mandatory for federally regulated businesses.

4. This has been standard in much of Europe for months now

I haven‘t taken a flight to Switzerland or Spain where I haven‘t been required to show proof of vaccination. No EU document, no boarding pass. You even need an EU QR code to ride a train or enter a café. Ain‘t got one? Don‘t even try.

5. I really do not want to be on a plane with asshole anti-vaxxers

Anti-vaxxers/TFG supporters are all assholes and I do not want to be on the same plane as these assholes.

We had a trip to Walt Disney World earlier this month and I ended up driving from Houston to avoid being in the same plane or airport as TFG supporters/anti-vaxxers
