Mods and Rockers were an English phenomenon, imported to the U.S. when the British invasion started.

Mods rode scooters in the British Isles, and Rockers were motorcyclists.

There weren't many scooter riders in the U.S. though, except in large coastal cities like NYC.

Plenty of motorcyclists after WWII though. Pilots loved the freedom of motorcycles. It gave birth to motorcycle clubs all over the country, including the Hell's Angels.

Yeah, I was around for it all. We had different problems then, including the Cuban Missle Crisis, the assassination of JFK etc. Many thought the world was doomed then as well.

There have been 'end of worlders' since Og and Groc started beating each other over the head with clubs outside their caves.

We always remember our youth as the 'good old days' though.

Of course at that point, I wanted to be British, Speak British, live British.

I remember mostly, I wanted to be a Liverpudlian because it sounded cool.

I had/have no idea where the word "Duper" came from, but it was generally anyone who wasn't a Greaser.
Before long, everyone was a Hippie to some extent, even most of the Greasers.

race and nationality will still divide themselves into rival groups. In fact, it's rare for it not to happen. Just human nature, apparently.
